Abstract
In 2015, the Paris Agreement established a global framework to prevent climate change, and this goal was reinforced at COP26 in Glasgow. Following the worldwide decarbonization trend, at the 75th United Nations General Assembly that occurred in 2020, President Xi Jinping stated China’s commitment to reach carbon neutrality by 2060. Achieving these goals will require expanding the installed renewable energy capacity, developing an infrastructure to produce, transport and store green hydrogen, and implementing energy efficiency measures.
In the presentation “Comprehensive Development of Renewable Energy in China“, João will focus on the most innovative projects of China Three Gorges Corporation and discuss how the company contributes to achieving carbon neutrality and how it is becoming a major global player in the clean energy sector.
